Company History

Yung Chi Paint and Varnish Manufacturing Company Ltd. was established in 1951. After years of continuous updating of equipment, the production capacity has been expanded to 89,000 tons per year, with more than 700 employees. Furthermore, Yung Chi Paint is an ISO 9001:2015 certified plant in Taiwan, China ( Kungshan) and Vietnam. After shortly, the company has become a public-listed company.
 
Yung Chi Paint, also known by their signature brand by Rainbow, is a Pacific Leader Rim in architecture and industrial coatings.
 
Yung Chi Paint expands and operates manufacturing facilities in China, Malaysia, Vietnam and US and is a global market leader for Coil Coating, Heavy Duty, Marine, Fire-retardant and Specialty Industrial coatings. The company has cooperated with world-renowned authority in the field of coating. It has continued to innovate new technology on coatings, supplying it to domestic and international.

  • 2012/11 invest in USA California Continental Coatings, Inc.
2011
  • 28th May: Held the 60th anniversary and employee’s sports games.
  • 17th June: Held the shareholder’s meeting and the 7th Board of Director’s Reelection Meeting.
  • CHANG, Der-Shiung, President and CHANG, Der-Jen, General Manager assumed the office.
2010
  • Purchase new site at No.24 Yen Hai 3rd.,Kaohsiung,Taiwan.
  • 2010/2 Start business: CSBC Coating Solutions Co., Ltd. with CSPC
2009
  • Malaysia-Malacca Plant Start Operation.
2008
  • ISO9001:2008 certificate obtained for plants in Taiwan, Kungshan and Vietnam.
  • Construction of Malaysia plant, and the capital fund incremented to NT$1.62 billion.
2007
  • New arrival -No.433 Golden Acrylic Emulsion Paint.
  • New Arrival - SA3000 Dirt Off Exterior Acrylic Emulsion Paint.
2006
  • Opening of Vietnam plant.
  • Company founder Chang Tian- Yung passed away on 18th June.
2005
  • Participating in Water-proofing Construction of Taiwan High Speed Rail Project.
  • Establish Tian-Yung Chang Charity Foundation

  • Yung Chi donates six million dollars to victims who suffer from 921 earthquakes.
  • To celebrate Millennium, Yung Chi donates 1200 gallons of paint in a Shou Shan Zoo campaign.

  • Technological Cooperation with Holland’s Sigma to Produce Marine Coatings
  • Obtain Germany’s TUV and B.S.M.I ISO 9001 International Quality certificate, and receive Water-Based Coating Environmental Award.

  • A qualified paint supplier to supply paints for National Defense lndustry.
1993
  • Successfully developedspray-applied fire resistant materials and passed UL testing.
  • Yung Chi Paint is now listed on UL Fire Resistance Directory.

  • 1992/12 Firecut F-1 is certified by UL (Underwriter Laboratories Inc)

  • Honored by CPC Kaohsiung Oil Refinery as an Accredited Paint and Coatings Supplier.

  • Successfully Developed Fire Production Coatings.

  • Technological Cooperation with Belgium’s Sigma for the production of Coil Coatings

  • Technological Cooperation with USA’s Ameron International to produce high solids & Heavy-duty Coatings
